Caravan Supply Chain (“Caravan,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a freight brokerage and third-party logistics provider. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we obtain it, how we use it, and the choices available to you. It applies to caravansc.tech, its subdomains, and the operational communications we send in the course of arranging transportation.
Information we collect
We collect only what we need to arrange and execute freight, support our customers and carriers, meet our legal and contractual obligations, and operate this website.
- Contact and business information — name, company, job function, business email address, and business or mobile telephone number.
- Shipment information — origin and destination, dates and appointment times, commodity, equipment, references, rates, and shipment documentation such as bills of lading and proofs of delivery.
- Carrier qualification information — operating authority, insurance certificates, safety information, ownership and contact details, tax and payment documentation, and related compliance records for motor carriers we contract with.
- SMS consent records — the mobile number, whether consent was granted, the date and time, the page or interaction it was collected through, the version of the disclosure presented, and, where available, the IP address and browser user agent of a web submission.
- Communications — the content of calls, emails, text messages, and web form submissions exchanged with us in the course of business.
- Website information — standard server request data such as IP address, user agent, and requested URL, retained in our hosting provider’s logs.
How we obtain information
- Directly from you, by phone, email, or this website.
- From your employer, customer, broker, carrier, or another party to a shipment who provides your contact details as an authorized shipment contact.
- From carrier qualification and monitoring services and other commercial sources used to verify motor carriers.
- From our own systems in the ordinary course of executing and documenting a shipment.
How we use information
- Arranging, dispatching, tracking, and documenting shipments.
- Communicating with customers, carriers, dispatchers, drivers, warehouses, consignees, and other authorized shipment contacts.
- Qualifying carriers and managing fraud, safety, and compliance risk.
- Billing, carrier payment, collections, and claims handling.
- Customer support and responding to your requests.
- Meeting legal, regulatory, insurance, and contractual obligations, and establishing or defending legal claims.
- Operating, securing, and improving our systems and this website.
Use of mobile phone numbers
If you provide a mobile phone number and consent to receive SMS messages from Caravan Supply Chain, the number may be used for freight coordination, load confirmations, dispatch instructions, pickup and delivery updates, shipment status requests, ETA notifications, appointment scheduling, delay notifications, documentation requests, customer support, and related transportation operations.
Recipients may reply STOP to opt out of future SMS messages or HELP for assistance. Message frequency varies based on shipment activity. Message and data rates may apply. Consent to receive SMS messages is not a condition of purchasing services or doing business with Caravan Supply Chain. Our SMS Policy describes the messaging program in full.
How we share information
Executing freight requires sharing shipment information among the parties to that shipment. We share personal information only as described here.
- Parties to a shipment — customers, shippers, motor carriers, dispatchers, drivers, warehouses, consignees, and other authorized shipment contacts, to the extent needed to execute and document the load.
- Service providers — vendors that process information on our behalf and under our instructions, including communications, hosting, transportation technology, carrier qualification, accounting, and professional service providers.
- Legal and risk — insurers, claims administrators, auditors, and legal counsel, and government or regulatory bodies where required by law or legal process.
- Corporate — affiliated companies within Caravan Group of Companies where necessary to provide our services, and a successor entity in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. The service-provider exception above does not permit any provider to use mobile numbers or SMS consent records for marketing; providers act only on our behalf and for the purposes we specify.
Technology service providers
Caravan Supply Chain licenses software and engineering services from 400x Systems Inc., which develops and administers portions of Caravan’s technology infrastructure, including systems published under caravansc.tech. 400x Systems Inc. acts as a service provider processing information on Caravan’s behalf and under Caravan’s instructions. Caravan Supply Chain remains the party responsible for its SMS messaging program, for obtaining consent, and for its transportation services. See Technology for how that relationship is structured.
SMS opt-out and message preferences
You may opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message from Caravan Supply Chain. You will receive a confirmation and no further messages from the program. Reply START to opt back in, or contact us at (312) 767-3612.
Opting out of SMS does not remove your information from our records or stop non-SMS operational communication such as phone calls and email, which may still be necessary to execute a shipment.
Your choices and requests
You may ask us to access, correct, update, or delete personal information we hold about you, or ask questions about how we handle it. Contact us using the details below and tell us what you are asking for. We will respond in accordance with applicable law.
Some information cannot be deleted on request — for example, shipment records, consent records, and documentation we are required to retain for legal, tax, insurance, contractual, or claims purposes. Where a request is subject to a legal right that applies to you, we will honor it as that law requires.
Retention
We retain personal information for as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, and afterward as required for legal, regulatory, tax, insurance, contractual, claims, and recordkeeping obligations. SMS consent and opt-out records are retained for as long as we operate the messaging program and for the period required to evidence consent.
How we protect information
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards intended to protect personal information, including access controls, encryption in transit, restricted system access, and vendor review. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we do not claim that our systems are immune to compromise. If you believe your information has been affected by a security issue, contact us immediately at (312) 767-3612.
Children
This website and our services are directed to businesses and their personnel. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. When we do, we will revise the effective date shown at the top of this page. Material changes to how we handle mobile information or SMS consent will be reflected here before they take effect.
